macOS Setup Guide
Because Tscribe is an independent app distributed directly to users (outside the Mac App Store), macOS Gatekeeper will block the first launch to ensure you actually intend to open it. This is a standard security feature on macOS. Follow these quick steps to verify the app and get started.
Move to Applications
After downloading and opening the Tscribe DMG file, drag the Tscribe app icon into the Applications folder shortcut. This installs the app on your Mac.
First Launch Warning
Open Tscribe from your Applications folder (or via Spotlight). Because macOS cannot automatically verify independent developers, Gatekeeper will prevent the app from opening and display a warning. Click Done (or Cancel) to close this prompt. Do not click Move to Trash.
Allow in System Settings
Open your Mac's System Settings and navigate to Privacy & Security. Scroll down to the Security section. You will see a message stating that Tscribe was blocked. Click the Open Anyway button to explicitly grant permission.
Confirm Open
A final confirmation dialog will appear, asking if you are sure you want to open the app. Click Open Anyway (or Open depending on your macOS version). Tscribe will now launch!
Note: You only need to do this once. Future launches will open Tscribe immediately without warnings.
Which model should you choose?
Tscribe offers multiple Whisper models, from tiny (32MB) to large (3GB). Each is optimized for different tasks and languages.
